Short version

This weekend I preached about the story of Sodom. God wanted to destroy it because of the evil that was taking place there. But, Abraham talked God out of it because there could have been ten good people there. I talked about how we sometimes judge a group of people by the actions of the most and ignore the fact that there are undoubtedly good people. It's even possible that there are good people in Iowa City.

"...What if there are at least ten there?"
(The Lord) replied, "For the sake of those ten, I will not destroy it."

Why does the paraphrased scripture quote, "Forgive him, Father, for he does not know what he is saying!" comes to mind??? So, watch it, my friend, watch it! You MAY have to eat those words some day! Remember, ALL of us are "God's children," -- EVEN HAWKEYES!!!! ;o)

Hope all is going well for you this week!

I've never been to Iowa City - but I'll take your word for it that there are good people there. In your profile you say you love the City University ... is it just the University that you love or the whole city? Are you the pastor there?

Thanx for a good Blog. God bless.

And another thing ... now I'm baffled.

Who is in the photo in your profile? I've enlarged it and I can't tell which Saint it is.

God bless.
